Welcome to the 2025 NCS South Coast World Series – Session 1!
Dear Coaches,
On behalf of **NCS South Texas**, thank you for being part of the **2025 NCS South Coast World Series – Session 1**! We’re excited to host your teams for a great week of baseball, sportsmanship, and fun in Portland, Texas.
Below is all the information you need to prepare for this event.

**Event Itinerary**
**Wednesday, June 18**
• 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Team Check-In, Skills Competitions & Pin Trading
• 12:15 PM – 11:00 PM: Pool Play Games
**Thursday, June 19**
• 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM: Bracket Play Begins
• 6:00 PM: Home Run Derby (6u, 8u, 10u, 13u)
• 7:00 PM: Home Run Derby (12u)
**Friday, June 20**
• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM: Bracket & Championship Games

**Mandatory Team Check-In**

**No team will be allowed to compete until check-in is complete.**

**Coach Checklist – Complete Before Check-In**
* Update your NCS roster (only include attending players)
* Print your official NCS roster
* Create a team binder with:
• Copy of each player’s birth certificate
• Printed roster
* **Player Fee:** \$100 per player
• Accepted: Cash, Cash App, Credit Card (**No checks**)
* **Team Insurance:**
• Must be uploaded and verified
• \$50 No Insurance Fee applies if not verified

**Skills Competitions – Wednesday Morning**
Infield Around the Horn (6 Players/Team)
• 2 timed attempts per team
• Must follow base sequence outlined in rules
Team Base Running Relay (4 Players/Team)
• Relay format on regulation field
• 5-second penalty for leaving early
Fastest Man (2 Players/Team)
• Timed lap around the bases
• 1 attempt per participant

**Home Run Derby – Thursday Evening**
**Date:** Thursday, June 19
**Start Times & Fields:**
• 6u – 6:00 PM @ Field #1
• 8u – 6:00 PM @ Field #4
• 10u – 6:00 PM @ Field #2
• 12u – 7:00 PM @ Field #2
• 13u – 6:00 PM @ Field #5
Each team may enter up to 3 players
**Format:**
• 1-minute rounds
• 2 warm-up pitches allowed
• Only fair home runs count
• No warm-up after batter enters the box
**Teams Provide:**
• Pitcher
• Baseballs (enough for full round)
• Ball shaggers

**Pay at the Plate – Umpire Fees**
* 5U–6U: \$30 per team/game
* 7U–8U: \$40 per team/game
* 9U–12U: \$55 per team/game
* 13U–18U: \$70 per team/game

**Behavior & Venue Rules**
We enforce a **Zero Tolerance Policy** for disrespectful behavior. Violators (fans, coaches, players) will be removed and banned from the event.
Please review and share the following venue policies:
Facility Conduct
* **Only water** allowed in dugouts and on turf. NO EXCEPTIONS.
* **No pets** on playing surfaces
* **No scooters** inside the venue
* **Wheelchairs, scooters, and service animals** allowed per ADA
* **No alcohol** allowed. Staff may inspect containers
* **No open fires or cooking** (BBQ pits, grills, etc.) in parking lots
* **No heaters** (open flame or portable) inside any part of the facility
Camera Policy
* Cameras must be **freestanding**
* No attachment to fences, nets, poles, etc.
* Must not block view of others
Noise Policy
* **No Bluetooth speakers, music players, air horns, or noisemakers**
* Violators will be asked to leave
Seed/Shelled Snack Policy
* Do not spit or discard sunflower seeds inside the park
* Seeds damage turf and drainage systems
Cleat Policy
* **Metal cleats are NOT allowed** on turf or portable mounds
* Use rubber cleats, turf shoes, or tennis shoes
No Motorized Vehicles Inside Gates
Prohibited items include but are not limited to:
• Dirt bikes, motorcycles
• Mopeds, ATVs, 4-wheelers
• Toy ride-on cars
• **Scooters (except for ADA use)**

Skills Competition Rules
🔁 Infield Around the Horn (6 Players per Team)

Each team gets two (2) attempts

The pitcher starts from the mound and throws to the catcher
-
The timer starts when the pitcher releases the ball
-
The catcher must step on home plate, then throw to 2nd base
-
The 2nd baseman must step on second base, then throw to 1st base
-
The 1st baseman must step on first base, then throw to 3rd base
-
The 3rd baseman must step on third base, then throw to the shortstop
-
The shortstop must step on second base, then throw to the catcher
-
The timer stops once the catcher receives the ball and steps on home plate
-
Up to six (6) players per team may participate
🏃♂️ Team Base Running Relay (4 Players per Team)

Each team gets two (2) attempts

Teams consist of four (4) players:

2 at home plate
-
2 at second base
-

No leadoffs allowed
Relay Format:
-
Runner 1 starts from home plate → runs to second base
-
Runner 2 (waiting behind second base) takes off after Runner 1 touches the base and crosses in front

Runner 2 runs home → passes in front of Runner 3 at home
-
Runner 3 takes off → cycle repeats
-
Timer stops when Runner 4 touches home plate

Runners must start behind the base or in the right-handed batter's box

Leaving early results in a 5-second penalty

All races will take place on a regulation baseball field
⚡ Fastest Man (2 Players per Team)

Each contestant starts at home plate with their lead foot on the plate

Time begins on the official’s signal

Contestants will run a full lap around the bases, finishing by touching home plate

The timer stops once the runner crosses home plate

Each contestant gets one (1) attempt
